Vendors Wanted: New Gloucester Farmer’s and Crafter’s Market –

Sat. Sept 6, 2008

There’s lots of economic and creative energy coming to New Gloucester. On Saturday, September 6, 2008, the first Farmer’s and Crafter’s Market will be held from 9 am to 2 pm at the First Congregational Church in the Lower Village. With high gas prices and renewed focus on local food and healthy eating, the Farmer’s Market is an effort to build community, support local agriculture and the creative arts, and a provide a way to have fun and reconnect with neighbors on a fall Saturday morning.

Vendors are being sought for this event. If you provide your own table and chairs, the display fee is $ 10 per space. If you need a table, you can rent one (or more) from the church for an additional fee of $5 for a 6ft by 3 ft table. The display area will be approximately 15 X 15 feet. Farmers and crafters must sell only home grown vegetables or home-made crafts.

We hope that this can become an ongoing event in New Gloucester but we are trying it as a one time event this fall. With ongoing support and interest, we hope to be able to launch a regular Farmers and Craft Market next summer.

For a copy of the vendor registration form, call or email Christine Babb 926-3260 or fccng@securespeed.net.  The planning committee for the event includes members of the New Gloucester Congregational Church, the Creative Arts Committee of New Gloucester, and the Economic Development Committee of New Gloucester. The Farmer’s Market is being sponsored by the First Congregational Church and proceeds benefit the church.

If you would like to stay involved or are interested in this effort, please call or email Julie Fralich 926-3161 or J.Fralich@gmail.com.
